Discover Chateau Musar and the story of our winery. Many people ask why Chateau Musar’s winery is more than a two and a half hour drive from the vineyards in the Bekaa Valley. When Gaston Hochar began making wine in 1930, the boundaries of Lebanon had not been set, and he wanted to ensure that his premises would be inside the newly demarcated country.
In October 2019, our US importer Bartholomew Broadbent tasted Chateau Musar Red 2002 "Just a hint of brick red on rim showing age, otherwise a light, glowing ruby colour. Rather mature sweet nose, very autumnal; treacle and brown sugar are joined by Golden Syrup and molasses aromas that fill the glass and the room. Beautiful mouthwatering acidity; a touch of banana; lovely spicy, hot mouth feel. Great length. The superb acidity will give it a very long life.
